France has always looked out for itself first, and to h*ll with anyone else. Yes, they helped us out in the Revolution, but that was more a part of their world-wide war with Britain than from any desire to be "the good guys." At that time, they were an absolute monarchy, so they really weren't into backing revolutionary ideas for their own sake.
France has a very large Muslim population, much larger than ours, percentage-wise, so they tippy-toe around the issues to keep the peace at home. They also have strong economic ties, both legitimate investment, and also under-the-counter dealings (as with Saddam / Iraq) in the Middle East.

Your view of history shows a basic lack of knowledge.
If you bother to do the research you will find out that in the past France has tried to impose its political will on both Syria and Lebanon ( long before the US tried the same thing), it invaded Egypt in the early 19th century and it attacked Tunisia, Algeria and Morroco at various times and added them to its empire.
It's true that Israel has been under attack since its formation in 1948 but only because it stole the land of the arabs and they have been trying to retrieve it.
During this time France has been one of several countries to supply Israel with weapons and gave them the technology to produce their own nuclear bomb.
As for the present day - the USA is acting like an ignorant bully and nobody can be expected to support that, except for Blair who is viewed with contempt in his own country.

It's true, France has recently taken many positions that are contrary to the interests of the US. We should never hesitate to speak our mind about the disgraceful and damaging things the French government does.
But also keep in mind that we still have more in common with France and more historical ties than can or should be rent asunder over a few bad decisions by their current incompetent leaders.
So, we should work on improving our ties with France while exposing their bad decisions to the light of reason.

No.Yes. France is the only one who has stood for peace without war as an option. France also had vast business investments in the area/region which were lost to unwarranted US aggression. She their point of view. Now look at the whole picture. No weapons of mass destruction,no terrorist, just oil and business ventures Peace.

I personally do not like France because they do not like the US. My brother was a marine and one of my friends is in the Army and all the military personnel I met all say that they do not like France and do not consider them our allies.

This is not something new.
General Patton once said that "I would rather have a German division in front of me than a French one behind me".
We didn't trust the french back then and we still don't now.

Nope, I reckon it takes a true friend to tell you when you're wrong.

You can't say that the war in Iraq has been any kind of success and that the US wouldn't give anything to get out of it.
