first of all, i want to say i am very proud of you for wanting good grades. I will try to offer you some other tips.
1) make a study buddy or study group....quiz each other before tests and think of possible questions for the test. I had a group like this in my government class and it was very helpful. if you try hard enough, you can about guess the questions that will be on the test and be prepared for them.
2) use the internet! there are all kinds of resources out there to help you study and to futher the study so you understand the subject better. try websites like gradesaver.com and cliffnotes.com
3) cut down on distractions! if you find yourself clicking a pen over and over and over...get a pencil that you have to sharpen (and keep a few extra incase that one breaks). this will help you keep your mind on what is being said. also, try to space yourself away from friends who will distract you.
4) stop the bordem...make suggestions! my biology class was soooooo boring. i would find myself about to fall asleep every day. i've found that talking to the teacher about the problem may help. tell him/her polietly that the way he/she is teaching is hard for you to understand. make suggestions such as more hands on work, more class discussions, or more fun activities. biology was still kind of boring but it was better. she ever gave us a chance to teach the class they way we thought it should be taught. if your teacher is stubborn or too scary to talk to...all i can suggest is a good breakfast, a good night's sleep, and caffine. :D
5) get tutoring if you need it! if you can get tutoring, don't be afraid to get help in a subject you are struggling with. everybody has their weak subjects so don't be ashamed or embarrassed.
6) keep your self out of trouble! along with getting older comes the pressure to "fit in". please, don't hang out with people who drink or do drugs. this could pull you into the same shoes and your grades would drop because of it. don't feel pressured to do be anybody but yourself.
hope this helps and best of luck getting good grades! :D

1. You should always remember to write down your homework.
2. If you have a project and have been working on it but haven't finished ask a parent for a note.
3. Listen to the teachers and don't interupt the class.
4. NEVER do things at the last minute. It put a lot more preesure on you.
5.Organize good notes that you can study later.
6. Reflect and review your notes.

Sit in the first or second row of class. Rewrite your notes as soon as possible; doing this will reinforce what you've learned. Put question marks next to things you don't quite understand, and ask the teacher the next day. Study with some friends who want to get good grades like you, not to party.

You definitely have to find out what works for you. Some people do better cramming before a test, while others will excel by managing their time. As far as staying awake in class, it's up to you to make the class interesting by almost forcing yourself through it and finding the good in each subject.

Good for you! The last two you listed are particularly important.
The only one you might want to add is: "Take notes during lectures, to remind yourself of what the teacher said."
Sometimes it's really easy to zonk out when a teacher goes on and on, but if you make a couple of brief notes -- even one-word notes -- it will help jog your memory later.
Have a great year.

Wow! You have covered most of the major ones, nice job.
I am a Middle School teacher, and I have no problem if students (occasionally, not constantly ) ask if something is going to be on the test. Teachers want you to pass you know, and alot of teachers like myself will tell you what is going to be on the test or exam - because you still have to recognize it or otherwise show you know it.
You will do well...

All of the things on your list are good. I would advise you not to let things distract you easily. You should also try to have a positive attitude towards work. Chances are if you want to do it, or at least act like you want to do it, you'll do good. I hope these little tips help you.

Actually, this has been a pretty life changing year for me as well. I grew up in a fairly devout Protestant family. We always went to church each Sunday, and once in a while I would get really excited about following Christ, but that excitement would only last for a day or two. At the beginning of this year, my pastor mentioned a book in his sermon entitled Radical by David Platt. I later learned that he had never read this book, and he rarely ever made any allusions to literature outside of the Bible. I am convinced that God guided him to put a quick mention of that book for me because it changed my life. Now, I realize that the Holy Spirit moved inside of me and got me interested into reading the book. I finished it in two days, and it got me motivated to serve Christ. From this point on, I can say that my life has been changed in so many ways. God is moving in my life, and I know it is only the beginning. I devote my entire life to my Lord Jesus Christ. I have met some amazing Christian friends that I spend time in prayer with, and I know I can trust them with anything. They have made such an impact on my life. God has changed the person I am, and I know he is just beginning his work. He has put non-believers in my life that I know I am supposed to witness to now and in the future. The other major thing he has done that I have only realized in the last couple of weeks is what I think may be his plan for my life. Since I found God, I knew I wanted to serve Him with my entire life, meaning I would not get a secular or worldly job because I feel I could not live a true life in Christ in that way. I for some reason got involved in Yahoo Q&A for some reason, and that only made me doubt, but I think he used it in a different way. Firstly, God has put a Muslim girl into my life that I am really close to, and I am determined to convert her to Christ. She means a lot to me, and when I just want to give up, God puts her back into my life in full force. Secondly, God challenged me with the reality of Islam. I began reading Christian responses and discovering the Islamic faith. Thirdly, someone contacted me over a simple answer I left them that I never expected a response to. This person was a Muslim, and even though it has been a short experience it has shaped my Summer. It has led me to search apologetics and begin to truly study the Qur'an and how to answer to Muslims. I think I begin to see God putting a calling in me as well as a true passion to in the future be able to evangelize to Muslims being the target. This was a really interesting question, and I pray that God uses you for whatever his will may be. God bless!

When you answer questions on a test or homework, make sure you know what they are asking. A lot of people don't read the question thoroughly, and so they answer with something the teacher didn't want.
