Being so young and having a baby, there is some danger to the mother and the baby. The mother is at a higher risk for high blood pressure, which can harm the baby.

Teen mothers are more likely than mothers over age 20 to give birth prematurely (before 37 completed weeks of pregnancy). In 2002, the 7,315 girls under age 15 who gave birth were more than twice as likely to deliver prematurely than women ages 30 to 34 (21 vs. 9 percent).2 Babies born too soon face an increased risk of newborn health problems and even death, as well as lasting disabilities.

Studies also show that teens are less likely than older women to be of adequate pre-pregnancy weight and/or to gain an adequate amount of weight during pregnancy (25 to 35 pounds is recommended for women of normal weight). Low weight gain increases the risk of having a low-birthweight baby (less than 5½ pounds).

teenage mother is at greater risk than women over age 20 for pregnancy complications such as premature labor, anemia and high blood pressure. These risks are even greater for teens who are under 15 years old. These youngest mothers also may be more than twice as likely to die of pregnancy complications than mothers ages 20 to 24.

14 and having a baby? Depends on what you mean in your question. Do you mean during labor or pregancy or after having the baby? In any case think positive whatever the case may be. Think of all that can be right! A little new life! How wonderful--
Being older than 14 would be much better though. Choice of life is good-- If you are pregnant you wont regret having it. If you dont have it you will regret any other choice. Losing school friends and all that stuff people tell you etc.. is small stuff compared to a life that is a part of you known as your baby. it will be tough no lie, but the first 5 yrs are the hardest then the child goes to school so it gets easier that way. You will need support and help and if you can call family pregnancy crisis hotline do so. But I hope you choose to keep it in everyway as it is a lifetime of missing them if you dont. Hope this helps. Hope the parents can be there to help as well.

I was 17 when I had my first (and so far only) child. Of course the emotional aspect of it is terrifying and overwhelming for both baby and Mom(Dad too if involved). Not only are you going to be trying to figure out your personal identity, but you are responsible for the life of another person. To say the least, its difficult.

However, physically a lot can go wrong too. At 14 (actually up until age 21) a woman's body is still growing. Pregnancy can cause nutrient deficiencies, and reproductive problems. I developed Polycycstic Ovarian Syndrome as a result of my teen pregnancy, which is a devastating illness for any woman. It causes weight gain, infertility, acne, hair loss...any, all or different kinds of those symptoms.
If you(or whoever you are asking for) is pregnant, my advice is to get on prenatal vitamins, find an excellent and compassionate OB, and speak with a dietitian. Best of luck.

You are way to young. Are you ready to give your whole life up?? Parting, friends, school?? Do you really think the dad will stick around cause u will be raising a baby by yourself. Are you ready to start working full time to support this baby and barely ever seeing it. What kinda life is your kid gonna have in and out of daycare running from person to person. You need to experience life a little more before having a child. It seems like the perfect idea now wait until your up every 3 hours with no help changing diapers. It is more responsibility than u could ever imagine.

well, sometime it can cause problems if you are not loose enoug down there to push the baby out , or if cause yours isn't big enough! That would mean you would need a c-section. sometimes people have c-sections and they are capable of a vaginal delivery, so everyone is different! Congrats on the baby, and take care! Tell your p.e. teacher, cause you don't need to do some of the activity!

ummmm...EVERYTHING!!! just think, that baby will have a ruined life because it's mother made a bad decision, and everyone will think that the kid's mother is it's freakin sister. and if you put it up for adoption then think of all the other things that will happen to your kid that nobady should have to go through. and if you thought of that and are giving the kid to your parents, THEN YOU JUST GAVE THE KID TO YOUR PARENTS! or maybe they aren't old because they were 14 when they had you. Is the father even with you anymore? i doubt it.

If you mean biologically, I don't know. About health and such I dont' know. But if you mean in the moral sense:
First of all: It's unwise because you probably can't support a child and still go to school.
Second of all: It probably gets you in a lot of trouble with your parents.
Third of all: It's just not wise to have sex at such a young age. You can get STDs and, of course, there's the possibility of you getting pregnant.

What do you mean, "what can go wrong"? The mistake has already been made in getting pregnant at such a young age, honey! Better tell Maury he's gonna have a new guest on his next show...
