If you get a Subway sub, just have them toast your sub, I do that even when not pregnant. The reason they say no lunchmeat without heating is cause of listeria, which if present can be serious and do harm to the baby. My OB recommends heating lunchmeat to steaming if you get it from the deli where bacteria is all around.
Good luck

I craved subway and their pickles the whole pregnancy with my second child and I ate everything was fine.
That does not mean that something could happen.
Eating out at certain restaurants that provide deli meat sandwiches such as Subway is not recommended for pregnant women since they do not reheat their deli meats. Therefore Subway recommends that pregnant women eat non-luncheon meat items such as meatball, steak & cheese, roasted chicken, seafood & crab and tuna (limit 2 servings a week).

I had the same concerns as you, I was craving subway (especially the tuna sub) I asked my OB doc about cold cuts and tuna and he said it is fine and that all foods are fine in moderation, just don't go crazy and eat it everyday. I now eat a tuna sub no more than once a week.

Sure, I would just stay away from Subway, cheap processed food. Go get some organic turkey meat and make a sandwich!

teh only reason they say not to is your supposed to heat it up if you do eat it b/c of bacteria. so just get it toasted. i ate it cold with my son and he/I are fine. its very rare to catch anything from it at all.
