We learn more by our mistakes than we do by our sucesses - or so they say. We need to take risks in order to progress, otherwise we would never try anything.
Some people say there is no such thing as failure, but I can't remember the last part of this saying! Oh dear - I've failed again.
Hope this helps:>)
P.S. I remember now: my Mum used to say, "If you don't at first suceed, then try, try and try again!" - How annoying is that?!

Depends on any intrinsic value in trying and also the potential value in succeeding. Take, for example, the lottery. Is it better to spend your money and not win, or just not play? Probably to not play with the typical lottery odds. Unless you derive an intrinsic pleasure or stress relief from scratching that ticket. Then maybe it's a dollar well spent, even if you never win.
But if the odds were 1 in 100 that you could win the lottery and it only cost a dollar to play-- then it's definitely worth the risk to fail trying.

You don't learn except by making mistakes. So you can either try and fail and do better next time, or you can never do anything, never learn anything, and eventually die, having contributed nothing to the world. Go make some mistakes. You'll learn from them, and be a better person for it.

it is better to fail trying because at least you know that you did your best and if you dont try at all then what is the point because you would rather fail than to do your best and see what the end result is. the best thing about is is that if try you are more likely to succeede{spell check}

depends on the situation. I think it's better to try then at least you can say you tried. But some things obviously you shouldnt try at all even though you might like to. What's it like diving off the top of a cliff into the sea for instance?? I wouldnt even try! The odds would be stacked against me! Why risk breaking my bones or my life just to say well I tried it...

The only time you fail is when you don't try.

Fail trying, because then you won't end up regretting that you never tried at all and you could at least say, yeah I tried but I wasn't able to. Hope that helps.
