the racism
the sexism

The problem with immediate access to more information is that not all information is created equal. Although you may find the answers you seek here, you must weed through the chaff to get to it.

Don't despair there are still people out there who use this service for what it's intended to be. If you can't get a serious answer to your question, ask it again after a day or two. Eventually, someone who knows the answer will take notice and respond.

I do feel sorry 4 u you sound very hostile and it is not fair to the rest of us that give honest answers to try and help someone. Unfortunately some of the answers r uncalled for the 2 points thing but it is a game as far as some of the silly questions (how do I get my finger out of my nose). Unfortunately U can not please everyone so it is set-up for everyone to answer whether u agree with their opinion some of the younger kids on here r mature while others ruin it for the people asking serious questions. I try to answer questions the way I would want someone to answer mine, As far as answers to certain questions if they want people's advice they have to take everything with a grain of salt; Life is full of choices and sometimes people make the wrong ones and ruin their lives reguardless of the answers people give. Keep ur chin up there r some really nice people on here!!!!!

I think it's a good service only if people take it seriously. Maybe there needs to be more monitoring on the types of responses that get posted, (and on the types of questions that get asked) because you're right, a very large proportion of these responses are jokes, repetitive, abusive, or otherwise completely unhelpful.
If this could really be a forum where people could ask questions to which they really want to know the answers, and people could answer seriously, without sarcasm or mockery, then I think that it could really be useful as a good source of information.
As it stands now though, it's very hit and miss and will probably continue to get worse as more and more people treat it like a fun game, where the main objective is to earn points.

Perhaps some form of moderation might get rid of some of it but and this is a big but if I had a very serious question that I needed an answer to that would affect my life in some way do you think I would put my trust in a complete stranger to answer it honestly and fully?
The answer to the above is no.
Anyone who has such a question and would use an open resourse such as this is asking for trouble.

I have asked two (yes only two) questions since learning of this service both of which I got decent and usefull answers to mostly I think because they were asked in a way not to incite people to answer them with scorn, abbuse or silliness.

I don't think it should be shut down, but you do make some valid points. I might take some advice from this site into consideration if I received a sincere and legitimate answer to a question, but I certainly would never blindly follow a stranger's recommendation. For a lot of people, this site is strictly entertainment. And if for no other reason, that is sufficient cause to keep it running.

No I don't think it should be shut down. Just because people don't agree with you doesn't mean they're all @rseholes. Just don't take it so seriously. I know there are some people on here who do seem to be idiots, but also, some people who do genuinely want to ask and answer questions seriously. I think I'm half and half - it's good to be lighthearted, but if someone asks a question honestly and seriously I try to answer the same way.

I have asked a couple questions and got honest, true and correct responses for the most part, and only a one or two dumb ones. The thing is to use common sense in asking and answering, if the answer sounds stupid then it probably is. I read one response where a kid supposedly burnt up his underwear trying to light a fart on fire. Here's your sign! Shut it down, I don't think so, it is entertaining for the most part and shake my head at the rest!

I remember a case of a kid saying that he felt ugly and fat and stupid, and the first answer he got was the recipy for mustard gas and a recommendation to kill himself. I pray everyday that he didn't. I totally understand where you're coming from and I try to collaborate by reporting abuse and answering seriously, but we can't go overboard and condemn everyone who doesn't take it seriously because it's a public service and therefore it's just like riding the bus: you have to deal with whatever people are on it, whethere they're a**holes or nice. If you like it enough, like I do, stick with it. If you can't take it, quit it. It's just that simple.

You are right cos many people do not give legit answers.
But you are wrong bcos the internet is a medium of expression. and its probably the only medium some people have.
Also theres nothing wrong in letting people have fun and interact.
Besides not everyone is lucky to have a family like you have.

So if you want to learn without fun, go to that kind of school. shutdown your pc and leave us in peace. (to shut down, click the start button).

You're such a f*cking baby.. If you don't like it.. Don't come on this site anymore. Leave the basement and go ask mommy instead of asking us. There are a lot of great people in here and a lot of good answers come from them.. Get a life. Don't come back, I highly doubt you can provide any useful information in any subject. Report me, I'll really be hurt by it...
