I was really skinny as well. A couple days before I had my baby, people said there was no way that I was ready to have him..."He must be so small." I had people telling me that I needed to eat more, and that I wasn't taking care of my baby. I was eating fine and to their surprise, I had a 9 lbs 1 oz healthy baby boy. Within weeks I had lost 29 lbs...back to normal size. Just ignore them...it's mainly the people who gained 90lbs during their pregnancy who give anyone crap about it.

I am now 9 mos pregnant and I still get that from people all the time. It used to irritate me and made me worry but my doctor has told me I am exactly on track. I think alot of pregnant women who had put on huge amounts of weight see someone else who isnt as big as they were when they were pregnant they feel they have to say stuff like that. They might be jealous. I am happy that I am not as huge as some people get, I would be scared to give birth to a huge baby. I am carrying a girl too and girls tend to be smaller than boys. Be happy that you are not huge and hopefully you wont get horendous stretch marks. I still haven't found a single stretch mark on me and hopefully wont notice any after labor. Im sure you look adorable. You probably look the way most women wish they looked or hope they will look like when they get pregnant.

extremely irritating!
I am four months along and get that all the time! Before I became pregnant I was 97lbs 5'6" and a size 00, at four months I am 103lbs and in a size 8 jeans or an XS maternity pant, I have gained 6inches in my waist and feel pregnant even though people who don't know me cant tell.
Why don't women understand that I have gained the appropriate 5 lbs I was expected to so far? Why do so many women consider it normal and health to gain huge amounts of weight just because they are pregnant? I just don't get it! Any OB will tell you it puts your baby at risk when you gain more than 40lbs but women all over are gaining 75 or more...

Everyone is different in the ways they carry and in how their bodies look pregnant. I think it's better to get the "you're too small" comment than the "boy, that baby must be due any day now" comment when you are only seven months like I had. Just rejoice in the fact that people will probably not be asking you when the baby's due weeks after your baby is born. You should bounce back to your old self quickly!

With my first I gained so much weight! (Maternity clothes wouldn't even fit after I hit seven months!) It was just in the front though so if you were standing behind me you couldn't tell I was pregnant. With my second it took me forever to put on any weight! Which was kind of good but also a little nerve wrecking. Sweetie your baby will be wonderful, all those people are just made that they can't look so good. Count your lucky stars, good luck and Congrats.

As long as your doctor says you are healthy don't worry about the lack of weight gain. I gained 60 lbs with my child and I wish I could have been small like you. Health is the most important thing and if you have that don't worry about your size.

Sorry, not me! I looked like a Volkswagen when I was pregnant. I'm only 4'9" so I never had the chance to carry low or high, I just carried. I envy you!!
