It can help dry the zit out, but it's not a surefire cure.

It depends what kind of pimple it is. Toothpaste contains menthol, which dries out the pimple but does not completely get rid of it. If it is the large, under-the-skin kind of pimple, it may help cool the inflamed area, but I can guarantee that it will not heal it. If it is a smaller pimple, it will help dry it out, but that is about it.
Also, I just wanted to mention that some common toothpate ingredients are actually known to irritate the skin. This is not true for everyone, of course, but it is just a warning.
My advice? I would stick to over-the-counter or prescription products. Salycic acid works for mild cases of pimples, and the ingredient benzoyl peroxide works great for larger pimples. Just take good care of it. No zit is ever guaranteed to go away in one day, but if you forget about it and keep it clean (away from wind or unwashed pillowcases, I find that it tends to heal quicker.
Good luck! :D

It works, but it takes more than a day. If you want a zit gone in a day, wash your face OFTEN. It sounds crazy, but wash it numerous times in a day, not just in the morning and before bed. ALSO...try drying it out with alcohol. It works, but it's not guaranteed that it will go away in a day.

Actually the toothpaste will bring all of the infection to a white head to be popped. So don't do it if you have some place to go the next day.

Yes it works. Just remember to use a paste & NOT A GEL. The pastes have a drying power that when applied to a pimple dries it out and the menthal in the paste disinfects the area inside & out.

It won't be gone, but it will be much less noticeable. Don't use a gel toothpaste, you have to use the white pasty kind. Dab it on nice and thick and leave it overnight. It'll help dry out the little bugger.

Yes it will, but not as a result of the toothpaste and bandaid. If you just leave it alone it will go in a few days.

Yep, it helps dry out the pimple, which takes away a lot of the inflamation, making it look smaller.
You could also try tea tree oil
