Well.............they do not want their kid's lives wasted on this fiasco. They are now seeing that they been lead down a garden path. Their kids volunteered probably because unlike the children of most of the neocons with money that run things. They thought working for Uncle Sam was going to give them money for college, free medical and all that. The US NEVER just attacks people like those other folk. So it was a safe bet you could join and never have to actually fight block to block anywhere. And you can GET OUT when your term was up, and get on with life. Had many thought, not only would there be a reverse draft, that there was a 40% or better chance they would not live to see the end of their commitment or see it as an amputee. I think they would have had even smaller numbers. Money forces some into joining because they feel they have no other options, like those truck drivers risking their necks over there because the money is tax free and big enough to choke a T-Rex.

I'm very proud of my son. I also am not against the war in Iraq. However when he was there , there wasn't a day that went by that I did not want him home. It would be the same if he were a fireman or policeman. I would worry. Mom's always worry. From the day a child is born until the day you die the worst nightmare a parent could have is loosing a child.

yeah mothers are proud of their children but lately it seems America is loosing a lot of troops to something akin to a civil war. So it seems the reason they voluntereed to go was to free Iraq from Saddam but suddenly now the people themselves have divided into 2 factions and one of the factions seems to attack the forces fighting in Iraq for Iraq.

Contrary to popular belief, not all mothers of soldiers are protesting. When my stepson went to Iraq, His mother, father, and I prayed non-stop for his safe return. I am in opposition to the war. I feel the American people were deceived into entering this war. But I am so very proud of my stepson for doing what he believes is right.

I'm sure they are proud. I'm also sure maternal instinct takes over in a situation like that. Would you want to see your kid coming home in a box???
