For some it can hurt and for others it may not. I've had four miscarriages. My first one I passed naturally and it was AWFUL. The pain was unbearable that I couldnt do anything for a few days. You do pass chunks at a time and that's when you know you've passed it. With my second and third I did a D&C. I did this to save myself from going through the pain and heavy bleeding again. Then for my fourth I wanted to pass it naturally again. The pain was nothing compared to my first one. I was able to work except I left a couple days early, but not the same experience. It just depends on your body. Good luck!

I had 4 miscarriages, none of them hurt, I never had symptoms of miscarriage, I found out at the ultrasound, I had 3 d&c's that is the surgery where they have to scrape your uterus to get rid of the fetus and only 1 time it came on it's own, didn't hurt either.

Yes it hurts like hell. It felt like the worst case of cramps I EVER had. It doesn't stop either. There are no breaks between contractions. I thought I would pass out because I couldn't breathe right. I hurt and bled so bad that I had to go to the emergency room. (I didn't even know that I was pregnant)
I ALSO COULD NOT STOP VOMITING.

yes they do hurt it sucks....for me i went through the stages of labor and i was 10 weeks along......the cramps are almost unbearable and i asked if i could get something to relieve the pain and they no because they didn't want stop the contractions because then my cervix would close and everything that needs to come out might not so then i would have to have a dnc.....you can have something called a chemical miscarriage which happens qutie often and that doesn't hurt at all you just go on to having your period.

it hurts bad depending on if you pass it or not. I passed both of mine and it was as bad as labor but almost worst due to the fact that there are no breaks in between like there are during contractions

some women(myself included) have early miscarriages and don't even realize it, thinking its a slightly heavier period. Mine was just a brighter red color. I had used a early pregnancy test and caught it just before I miscarried. So my answer your question is, they don't have to hurt, but they can.
