Yes --- and I love it when someone tries to tell you HOW to "feel" --- that isn't possible. You can't tell someone how to feel and expect it to work that way.

YOU, me and everyone need to stop ASKING the obvious and get as FAR away from the very issues we THING we have control by way of TALKING about it all the time.
Unless you are a rich Senator or Prime Minister, your merely wiggling on a permanent, bad hook.
I made little fortunes, saved some of them, bought a safe and except for what I LOVE to do in film and gadgets, I am INVISIBLE to the BIg Brother world!
The further away I am the better. I HATE the t.v. and HATE politics and HATE crowds and crowd mentality!
ITs all out of our hands and WAY too dangerous to F with or even watch out of morbid curiosity! Its a train wreck I am TIRED of looking back at and honestly, if I did that any more than I have, I'd be considering suicide instead of quiet, adventure and animals and hobbies that make my world not just TOLERABLE, but actually FUN! F'ing people standing in line in the CITY will never give me that! Talking politics when I can't SET the example, taking my turn at RULING, won't give me that!
I AM TIRED OF THE SAME DIALOG AND SAME COMPLAINTS AND SAME FACES AND SAME VIEW!
That's why I have NO opinion at all about your question and I never did and never will.

I do not expect everyone to be void of normal and natural human emotion. When I face people who actually practice void of emotion, they act as if nothing means anything to them, it amuses me so much because I feel sorry for those people. Nobody expects them to be so but themselves. But do they know why? No. That's what so amusing.

The problem lies with trust. Emotions are your honesty shining through, emotions are also considered a sign of weakness. For people that are "false" or "fake" emotions are a giveaway. Most people in this world that i have met are so full of what TV tells them that they dont know who they are, and inevitably hide or falsify their emotions. Among young males emotions are weakness and give you the persona of "homosexuality" which no young man wants regardless of sexual orientation. Among young females emotion is used against you, weather through teasing or antagonistic actions. I offer you only the thought "Find someone honest, in words, actions, and feelings, and you shall find a genuine good hearted person"

I think that the way society is going and the way there is nothing sacred anymore is making everyone numb and devoid of emotion. Look whats on tv - anything goes! People watch war, death, etc and after a while it doesn't even phase you, and it's really sad because thats how our children will grow up.

I believe it's a form of racism. In the past, North America was dominated by the British, who were more emotionally repressed than most other cultures. Now we are supposed to be independant, but everyone is in reality still supposed to conform to the dominant culture, and if you don't, you get marginalized.

Bingo!
I think society is waking up and realizing that knee-jerk emotional reactions without the benefit of intellect are a HUGE cause for problem.
To deny one has emotions is foolish, to practice Objective thinking and considering the source of the emotions you are experiencing during your reasoning...is ingenious.
~** Objectivity, Learn It, Live It...it's the only chance we have...**~

NO...but emotions run amuck can be a problem if you are required to use critical thinking skills when performing a job.
The robot ideal is justified if you are being paid to get the job done....

Maybe it's because of the tough silent strong individual hero and the depersonalization and alienation in everyday life?
