I still love my country. I love the variety of its landscape, the different cultures, the freedoms that we enjoy but frequently take for granted. I love the way we celebrate holidays. I love the abundance we enjoy at the supermarket. I love the busy cities and the quiet country towns.
In light of all this, I am still disillusioned. I am unhappy with our leadership. Not just the Republican or Democrat parties, but the system that allows so many injustices to occur. Someone comes up with a bill or amendment, which is great, but it is never one issue. The politicians find ways to sneak all kinds of issues into a simple statement. If it goes to vote, we think we are voting on one statement, when in fact it is probably a 200 page document, allowing or criminalizing so many things that we don't even know about. Laws should be simple.
This is supposed to be a government OF the PEOPLE, BY the PEOPLE, and FOR the PEOPLE. ......ALL the people. Not just the politicians. Not just the rich. But for ALL LEGAL people in this country.

YES, I love my country and YES, I'm disillusioned by its leaders.
I think that only term limits and line-item veto authority can make for any significant change. Our senators and representatives have two main objectives: 1) Get re-elected 2) Bring as much taxpayer money to their constituents as they can (by tacking on pork to every bill).
The Republicans have largely abandoned conservatism and the Democrats are dominated by the far left (they only try to sound centrist ahead of elections). I am very concerned about the Republican orgy of spending; however I am more concerned about the possibility of a Democrat controlled House & Senate. Fortunately, the Democrats have come off looking poorly lately and they still don't get that their dovish tendencies with respect to war don't play well in mainstream America.
If WWIII comes about, we will see mainstream America display their patriotic spirit (mush to the consternation of America-hating liberals).

Yes, we love our country and we want it back. What it would take to restore faith in America is first an impeachment, then a War Crimes trial. We need to show the world that we are not just a bully, but apply our morals to our own actions as well.
Americans have long been willing to die for their values. That is not the case of the cowards in control now. They tell you that you have to give up your rights, or Americans will die. Those very rights ARE the values that Americans have historically been willing to die for. Now what are we dying for?

Yes I love this country, no I'm not disillusioned by the leaders. Naturally not everything is exactly the way it should be, but then nothing is ever perfect. We could be MUCH worse off.

This one is wayyy too complicated, yet oh so simple. The basics of right and wrong would be a good start but money would get in the way of that. So it's not looking good so far...

You leaders should have nothing and i repeat NOTHING to do with whether you have pride in your nation or not. Support the leaders or not, you always support your country.

I love the country, and I'm happy with the leaders.
We could use fewer loonely lefties. But, this too, is the price of freedom. Too bad they don't realize this.
