This problem is not a problem. It is not serious and will not affect you. The staple will pass through your GI tract intact. Don't worry about it.

First of all,how on earth did you do that?
Anyways, most office staples are made out of iron, and lightly coated with silver. They are also slightly sharp, but quite small.
Keeping these two in mind,it is fair to say that little harm will be done (if any) as the staple moves down your Gut.A little scratch here and there is really nothing to worry about.
Silver,if ingested in large amounts, can be poisonous. However, the quantity on that staple is not enough to do any harm whatsoever. Therefore, you will safely pass the staple the next time you take a Dump!

A standard office staple is so small that it is very unlikely to cause any serious or permanent injury or complications. In all likelihood, it will pass through the digestive system harmlessly within 48 hours. If you are concerned about this, speak with your doctor for reassurance.

I don't know for a fact but whas it in stapled form or unstapled form. Unstapled is a little more dangerous. There is a chance that your stomach acid will corrode it enough to pass it. Maybe try drinking a coke too. If it was in stapled form it is most likely to pass through but unstapled form it could snag and you might want to ask your doctor.

Now you must swallow a stapler. It's the only way for your body to utilize it. But seriously folks, 2 days ago I bit into a staple from some takeout Thai. Never going to that place again, harmless or not!

How on earth can you just 'believe' that you've swallowed a staple - surely you'd know either way. And if you did - why?!

the sharp edges of the staple may cause tissue irritation as it goes down the digestive tract, however since one staple was swallowed (ha, ha),chances of any serious damage is almost nill unless it is stuck in your throat, if not,the stomach acids will take care of said staple, and will eventually b evacuated from anus, r u having any symptoms of injury at this time

The digestive tract can process almost anything. You should poop the staple out in1-3 days and may not recognize it due to it being encased in feces. Have a great day and don't worry you will be fine.

There is a high possibility of things being much more organised in your gut.
Symptons might include a foul, rusty taste.
Complications might include your stomach attaching itself to your small intestine and/or kidney.
Possible bladder leakage.
On a serious note, you should go to the hospital and get it removed because there is a high chance of it giving you blood poisoning, assuming it tears your gut/small or large intestine on its way out of your system....

If you really don't want to make a doctor's visit about this situation then maybe you should call your doctor and ask them this same question you asked us and see what they say. They should be able to give you some information over the phone. Maybe they will tell you that it will just pass when you make a bowel movement.
