I was wondering, can you go to a dermatalogist even if your acne isn't that severe? I mean, i have blemishes that are really red and i've tried proactiv and clearasil and few others and they don't work. i've had it for 2 years now and i want it to clear up. the acne isn't horrible, but enough to make me uncomfortable, so should i see one or not?

Of course its okay to see a dermatalogist! They can give you a treatment that can help better than things on TV, they can also tell you different techniques to help with your skin; IE: Drinking water, lotions, scrubs. They do know a lot of things that can help even for the small things that disturb us. haha. well i wish you the best of luck!

I had the same problem and it turned out to be Rosacea, the pimples were red as you describe. This can get worse if not treated and makes you look like you are constantly blushing. The treatment was successful the pimples did clear up. I was put on a treatment using antibiotics and a clear lotion I would apply before my make up. Do go see the doctor, you will be glad you did.

Its not worth having to live with acne whether its mild or severe.... Go to the dermatologist... feel better about yourself! :-)

If you are over 30 it could be Roseacea and you would need a doctor to diagnose that. If it will make you feel better, go.
