The patient needs to discuss things they can remember doing before the fit, it won't come back to them straight away but they usually remember a little bit more every time they talk about it. It's kinda like re-tracing your steps when you have mislaid something. One of the easiest ways you can exercise your mind is to buy a puzzle book, one that has different kinds of puzzles in it. Play games that make you think, like trivial pursuit or scrabble.

There are lots of books available on training exercising and developing the memory, there are also packages available for computers and games consoles. There is impressive research out there about the brains abiliity to increase its density and number of connections between cells, but I dont know about this specifically after a fit. My guess is improvements probably can be made, but then I've got massive believe in human potential. Good luck!

This is also my problem because I had a seizure myself. The best way is to begin remembering small things first, and concentrate on what you are doing ONE THING AT A TIME and do not let anything distract you from what you are doing, and gradually, your memory will improve. Do not stress yourself out, just stick to your priorities and all will be well. It is somehow difficult at the beginning but it gets easier as you progress.
Good luck dear heart, and keep your chin up!. You're going to be okay.

the memory problem could depend on other factors, is the fit a one off or have there been more than one? is any medication being taken long term to control the fit/s? [some anti -convulsant medication can affect the memory if taken for long periods].
you need to stimulate the brain, puzzles, crosswords, etc all these things can help.
if not carry a pen and paper.

I recommend trying a hypnotherapist. Make sure they have credible qualifications as anyone can actually call themselves a hypnotherapist.
I recommend one who also has an NLP Master Practitioner license from the society of NLP, as well as a clinical hypnotherapy qualification accredited by a British University.

It is something that must be done all the time, not just after a fit.
Play chess, or freecell or other games that make your mind work or your memory work.
get in the habit of excercising your brain and recovery is faster.
