Honda Civic Front Hood Not Closing Properly?

The front hood of my 2002 Honda Civic doesn't close fully. It does however, close enough to prevent the open hood indicator light from turning on. What can I do?

sounds like your hood release latch is damaged, loose or not working right. get it fixed because hoods can cause a very exciting stop from 60 mph when they open up and cover the windshield
