Do you think The Mob hired Jack Ruby to silence Lee Harvey Oswald?

No.

Neither Oswald nor Ruby fit the mold of Mob hit men...they were bozos... Oswald's great anarchic achievement was taking a potshot at an army general (and missing). For an operation this important, the conspirators would have wanted someone swift, sure, quiet trustworthy, and, most of all, experienced.

Oswald got the job at the Texas School Book Depository in Oct 1963, many weeks before Kennedy's handlers decided to route the motorcade right past the depository during Oswald's lunch break. Kennedy went to Oswald, Oswald didn't go to Kennedy. It was simply a tragic coincidence. No one has ever turned up a shred of evidence of any inside job by Kennedy's aides.

The only time Oswald was exposed to the pubic was when he was transferred out of the police station... At the SCHEDULED moment, Ruby was at a Western Union office, wiring money to a friend...there is an exact record of this. Ruby wandered by the police station an HOUR later. Because of the late arrival of a detective, Oswald's transfer had been delayed. Ruby meandered into the basement garage at precisely the right time and shot Oswald...but one assumes that a REAL hit man would have arrived on time.

Some think that Jack Ruby was a buisness associated that help plan the parade in Dallas when the deal for the new set of dance clubs and bars fell through Jack Ruby swore to kill the president. But there was another Lee Harvy Oswald. Oswald wanted to make a statement for Cuba and Russia by killing their enemy figure head.Oswald and Ruby both shot Kennedy. Oswald from the depository and Ruby dressed up as a cop. Neither knew the other one but both shot near the same time. Even though Oswald wanted a statment Ruby wanted revenge if every one thought of Oswald as the assasin that would make Ruby`s attempt not well known so he shot oswald out of greed. He wanted to be known for the death of the President.

As of today's date (August 11, 2006) there is NO evidence that Ruby was hired by anyone to kill Oswald. NO ONE has produced a shred of evidence that Ruby received ANY money from ANYONE to kill Oswald.

1. Ruby's financial records were meticulously investigated and NO unaccounted for money was ever uncovered.
2. Ruby himself maintained to his death that he was not hired to kill Oswald.
3. If Ruby was paid to kill Oswald, wouldn't someone then have to be hired to kill Ruby to keep HIM from talking? Why didn't Ruby implicate his so-called co-conspirators during his trial?

While it may look fishy, all allegations of involvement by the mob in Ruby's murder of Oswald have NO factual support at all.

The Warren Commission already issued a statement (a million years later) admitting that Oswald was probably not the lone shooter. Clearly there were other factors going on, which we probably will not know in our life time. But I do hope the truth emerges, just like with the assassination of Dr. ML King.

The problem with that theory is that Jack Ruby was not a total idiot, he would have known that he would be caught (in the basement of a police station, after all!!) and charged and convicted, he could even have faced a death penalty! I do not think too many people would accept any amount of money in exchange for a life sentence (which he ended up serving), or even death.

Jack Ruby(Jacob Rubinstein) had New Orleans Mafia connections and they were rumored to be involved in the Kennedy assassination.

I think there was a much bigger conspiracy than the mob that involved LBJ, KBR/Halliburton and the CIA.
