I'm 13 years old, and I live in a society of first class bitches.

I'm smart = thus I'm a nerd.
I have frizzy hair = thus i'm a dweeb.

I'm in middle school, and I'm fed up with this entire school looking like clones! There hair is the same and everything! NO ONE[including myself] wears anything besides abercrombie or hollister. And you might as not own a purse if its not designer.

I'll admit it, I have and get, most of what I want, so there you go, I'm spoiled. But, I know how to work for things, and achieve goals without life being handed to me on a silver platter. But I need help...

I want to change this, I really do. I want everyone to be an indiviual, and I want to be the reason. I want people to be independent, and not care who's wearing what.

I need many, suggestions on how to accomplish this.

[[BTW, I live in Long Island, New York and attend BERNER MIDDLE SCHOOL.]]

That's the way kids your age are - they're very follow the crowd-ish.

For what it's worth, college is not nearly that bad. See if you can hold out five more years.

That Is Thee Exact Thing That Happend In My School...Every Girl Wore Those Ugly Tights. But What I Did Is I Tryed And Brought New Things Into Style Like Say A Tie Or A Bandana. If You Can Try And Come Up With A Speach And Say It Over The Anouncements Or Something To Try And Get People To Be Themselves. Start Off By You Not Being A Clone If You Already Are. Try Getting New Unique Clothes Not From Hollister Or Abercombie. Try Something New, Get A New Haircut Thats Different Or Dye Your Hair A Different Colour. Just Try Somthing New And Be Different And Encourage Your Friends Not To Be A Clone(If Are). But Just Make Shure Its Still Things You Like And Not Just Thing To Make You Look Different Or Something!

You are at an age where having all the "cool" things is mandatory for being one of the "in" crowd. If you want to be an individual then just be yourself and dress how you want to dress. You will deal with this type of attitude throughout high school, but it does get a bit better in college. You are the one who is going to decide how you live your life and how you are viewed by other people.
Instead of buying all Abercrombie, why not try Banana Republic or another store instead. You don't have to look like all the mindless drones at your school. As for your hair - go to a salon and see what can be done about the frizziness - there are products that can help.

Same here 13 live in Manalapan, New Jersey. anyone who is anyone wears hollister, abercrombie, 5.7.9, nordstrom, all that other preppy stuff..well wear what u like not what they like and im assuming you have good taste if u lived with abercrombie & hollister for this long.

If you wanna be different but still be cool than shop at abercrombie and hollister BUT get the clothes there that most ppl dont wear and like say you want a new coach bag get a different one not the same one everyone else owns

I knew you were going to say you lived in Long Island. I am from upstate NY and went to college with a bunch a LI girls. It doesnt get much better when they go to college either. THey looked at me as some country bumpkin but I didnt care. I payed for my own education, clothes, car, etc. Granted I didnt have the best of everything but I appreciated it more because I worked for it and earned it myself. Don't worry about them now. When they get into the real world and mommy and daddy cant hand them everything anymore it will kick them in the rear. Stay strong girl. You are one of very few LI girls that feel this way. Good for you! I suggest ignoring them and knowing that later in life the will get there comeupance. What goes around comes around (I have witnessed it first hand). Be proud of who you are as a person and not proud of what you materially have.

First step to independence from other people's thoughts is to live your own life to the best of your ability. The BEST thing you can do is to do something that matters to you.

Here are a few suggestions:

Volunteer at your local
boys/girls clubs
rec center - to help younger kids then you
to help on young sport teams
hospitals
libraries

The more you step out of your tiny (and it sounds like superficial) world, the more you'll feel better about the world in general. Not everyone is as shallow and ridiculous as you've mentioned!

Good luck!!!

OMG! I know what you mean same at my school I go to a really small school so everybody knows everything about everyone, So really if you do something wrong or anything that's just not "in" You are pretty much the loser........ mostly when it comes to The bitches at our school they are known as the 6 chix and around them know body is rude but behind there back not only my group of friends but also all of the wonderful 6 talk about each other. So really All you can do is deal with it.... Like I talk to my family about it and my bf. So like if you need to talk to someone about it email me. Alright ttyl

Wow it sounds like those people are really boring if theyre trying to be clones of everyone else. Dare to be different. If someone says something be like Im not a clone, Im an individual which is way cooler when were older.

Wait until high school. I feel the same way as you, and in high school, it's a lot easier to do that because there are so many DIFFERENT people. It's a lot better there. Some still act the way you described, but there are MANY individuals there.

First thing you need to do is learn how to spell correctly: it's "their" not "there."

Then after that, just let your imagination and creativity flow within the rules of the discipline you feel most comfortable living in.

Whatever you do, never follow others. Always do things your way as long as you do not ruin other's lives in the process.

Always take care of you!
