My car jerks slightly when going down or up in speed at low speeds. It has 70,000 miles on it. It is a Chevy Crapibu. It also has a bad exhaust valve. That problem developed at around 50,000 miles. Do I have a transmission problem and if so will it get worse over time? Do you think it simply needs transmission fluid? Thank you.

you should always check your car fluids....always, and exhaust problems can cause performance problems such as you described,
also vacuum leaks can too, and transmission problems....could be many things, take it to the tranny mechanic and get a free estimate!!!!

could be either...since you car is at an angle..if the fluid is low you might have trouble getting enough pressure in the transmission. Check the level..and add a bit if you need it.
It could be a trans. problem too...you could have a slipping clutch on one of the gears but I'd think fluid level first.

and yes if u do nothin it will get worse over time

Doesn't sounds like it. I had my automatic trans go. Basically you would drive along and all the sudden the rpm's who go from 2000+ to 5000+ as if you took it out of gear. Or put it into neutral and reved the gas.

I'd check the fluid, but it sounds more like a fuel (pump) issue.
