In my experience of exchanging correspondence with friends in MA and NC (I am in Oregon), the average is 5 days. Occassionally 4 or 6. So plan on 6 and be pleasantly surprised if it only takes 4. I have never had it take less than 4 personally.

3 days maximum. I sent a letter from Saratoga Wy. to Portland, it took two days. I say three to be safe.
