No way was he connected to the pistols believe me ,I was a first generation punk and know just about everything about the pistols,was also a de burgh fan since "a spaceman came travelling" mlong before the pistols hit the music scene

No, he was not. He was always a solo artist. Got signed and opened for supertramp in 1974. He was never involved with the Sex Pistols.
