No, it doesn't bolt like lettuce.

Lettuce will bolt and make seed when it gets hot. But Cabbage plants require cold weather conditions to cause plant to flower and produce seed. Some tropical varieties may flower if left to mature completely. If seed production is attempted, the cabbage head must be cut open carefully to expose the growing point to grow up and produce flowers. Care is needed not to damage the growing point when cutting the heads open. After flowering, allow the pods to dry, then remove seed.

Although cabbage looks like lettuce, it is actually in the same family as broccoli and cauliflower. It will eventually flower, but the leaves will look pretty bad before it happens. Have patience, and you can get your own seeds for next year's crop.
