Honestly, it is because most hard-core rocker guys are really former band dorks who never got chicks in school until they were in the band. They have always wanted to be the cool kids and now they are-or they think they are. Because of that they want to make sure everyone knows they can get any chick playboy bunny etc they want, despite still being a dork.
