I fish to just get some peace and quiet. Some of my best fishing trips have been without catching any fish. But I am happier catching something other than snags

Of course a catch would be nice, but it's not necessary if I'm just out fishing with friends or family. Although, it was fun to see the looks on Dad's and Granddad's faces when I caught that 19 inch rainbow...but the catch wouldn't have been as fun without someone to share it with.

I'm not terribly fond of eating fish, and neither is my husband. But I do love to go fishing - and if I go, then yes, I am happy just to catch something. For me it doesn't qualify as a skill, it's sheer luck on my part (not the fish's), so it isn't something I put a lot of effort into, but I enjoy it.

Yes, when I go fishing I expect to catch something. I also like to fish in rivers or streams where I have to "work at it." I am not a fan of fishing in ponds or lakes where we just sit on the bank and hope for something to bite.

yes, sometime I don't even get a nibble. Catching any fish, even a salt water catfish, is a good thing. I don't like those salt water catfish though. they are a hastle to get of fthe hook without getting pricked.
