she died in a car accident in Honduras on April 25, 2002. She had been there doing missionary work, which was something she had a passion for. It is said by those close to her that she had been undergoing a spiritual epiphany and had recently ended a month-long fast prior to her death. Her funeral was held at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia. Lopes was interred at Hillandale Cemetery, also in Lithonia.

She was In Honduras driving a rented Mitsubishi Montero SUV the people in the car with her was her brother, her sister, a group called Egypt, and 2 producers. She was driving and a car came and she tried to swerve so she would not hit the other car, and the SUV she was in tipped over. Left eye died after sustaining a blow to the head. The police in Honduras said that she was speeding and lost control. May 27, 1971- April 26, 2002

Car accident that I believe she was a passenger in. I think April about 4 years ago b.c i was getting my license renewed that day. I remember being so sad..
