It means you would strive to not be addicted to anything. But if taken to the extreme where you feel you *must* be constantly striving, then that in itself is an addiction.
Quite the quagmire you've got here. Good question. :)

It doesn't logically make sense. Addiction always has an object, whether it's drugs, sex, thrills, gambling, etc. No addiction has no object. I think it may be possible to have a phobia of addiction, not wanting to rely on anything external, but this would not qualify as an addiction to no addiction.

I wouldn't say it was nonsense but perhaps one would be more likely to be obsessive about not being addictive than addicted to not being addicted. Semantics, perhaps but just a thought...Incidentally, I love the question...

i understand you dillema, having had a few addictions myself and made the decision to break them all ( sucsessfully so far) i find it difficult to settle with any kind of routine in case i begin to rely upon the routine itself, i am currently reminding myself that although' we only live once' and' life is short' ect.. we actually live forever as nothing exists for us before we are born and nothing exists for us after we die ( i mean the physical person we are now) life is a long time so there is no rush to achieve anything today, but if we can take tiny steps in good directions we can achieve great things eventually without really trying...

you can´t be addicted to nothing because as a Greek philosopher used to say: "nothing does not exist and if it does not exist, is nothing, so you can´t be addicted to a thing that does not exist, is pointless"
