They don't have the talent to pull it off. Jessica Simpson's Take My Breath Away was horrid along with her These Boots Were Made For Walking. What made it worse was Berlin's original version of Take My Breath Away is one of my favorite songs.

It makes me mad. If the pop stars choose their music profession to be pop they should stick with it. They end up making the song an embarssament to all rock lovers everywhere. Pop stars should stick with pop covers and nothing else. Because you don't see rock stars stealing their profession do you?

It rarely works. Very rarely. "I love rock and roll" by Britney comes to mind. Just not necessary. If I wanted to hear the song, I'd listen to the original.
Gregory...If you like Take my breath away there is a band that does a decent cover. They are Copeland.

Pop stars that got where they are cause they showed up at an audition and was the best singer and dancer...no
New Rock bands that have worked through the ranks, learn to play instruments, maybe these bands inspired them to learn to play...then yes...that one is ok...

I think it`s really wrong. But it`s even worse that people actually think they`re making good songs... I don`t think the pop stars are as guilty as the people who keep buying their records.

Sometimes it's cool if they do something fresh with it, but it is definitely taking the easy way out, and all too common these days.

they been doing it for ages....it's theire brad and butter...but what is not well known is the fact that the original artist benefit from them in royalities and also getting thiere names back in a spotlight again...they are not getting ripped off by any means....it's a well paying contract
