I never said it was a direct comparison. You did.
Also, there were many people who were "patriotic" in that sense, in Germany. That's how they were brainswashed into serving Hitler.

I define patriotism as religion if they are willing to die for what they believe in they are being brain washed to go that far.The nazi germans beleived fully in the fascism of the Aryan race. Now people are following a leader blindly. The death and destruction is nowhere close to the terrible Holocaust but the belief, deceit, and power of thought.

People weren't brainwashed into loving Hitler, Hitler created millions of jobs and put people to work, he made the people love him by rectifying the errors of the Weimar Republic which were caused by the unfair terms of the Treaty Of Versailles. The working class needed someone to blame for the Weimar Republic's failure, so they decided to pick the jews because they were nearly the only people who prospered during the Weimar Republic.
