i disabled the ac97 audio in bios. but when i try to run the executeable file for the drivers for my creative live 5.1 soundblaster card it says it can't find a creative live soundblaster in my system. the cd that came with my computer only has the audio driver for ac97 audio.

Try removing the from the device manager before installing the sound blaster

delete it in device manager,then the pc should 'detect new hardware' if not shutdown,remove the card then replace and start to see if it is detected,then load drivers again....it's worked with me

make sure that the card is put in right and fully connected to your computer
