Why do so many white girls dye their hair and tan themselves silly?

Tanning is definitely big right now......but if you compare how a body looks tanned and when its pale white, well its clear which looks better. Girls dye their hair to make them look different and it adds a little spice to their daily look.

Girls die their hair and tan themselves silly because they think it will make them more attractive to the opposite sex, but really it just makes them uglier. Obviously you're not impressed by this, Jonny. I know if guys did this all the time, I wouldn't be impressed. Hair dye isn't so bad, so long as it's done properly and looks good (I have highlights :-D) but when it's all messed up and the spray tan is blotchy you can look even worse than ghetto.

In Britain there are chav* girls who wear so much makeup and stuff that they actually look like Ronald McDonald! And with the tan, it can be difficult to distinguish white girls from Asian girls.

One of the features that makes Penélope Cruz beautiful is that she doesn't often wear makeup and stuff. She prefers to be au natural. I saw some pics of her in The Guardian's Weekend magazine on Saturday (with a great article and interview about Pedro Almodóvar, Hollywood and her life) and she looks really good because she doesn't put a load of products on her face. Some are naturally blonde. Most are not. Some who are not want to try it because they want a change, or think it would flatter their comlexion etc. Blondes that go dark are trying to maybe look mysterious, or goth just guessing. Black females dye in brown and red highlights. It is a female thing really. It is fun to experiment with fashion and different looks. As for the tan thing. I wonder that myself. I guess it does look healthier to have at least some color. But even if a person was snow white it isnt worth skin cancer. So , white girls be comfortable in your skin. It is all beautiful.

It's what's stylish at the moment. In the 19th century, pale skin was a sign of beauty and status (a tan meant that you were out in the sun working like a laborer). Bleach blonde hair is popular because so many celebrities are sporting it right now.

I'm not a fan of the look myself (I choose to enjoy my naturally pale skin and dark hair), but give it time and the tide will eventually turn again. Something else will be "in" and we won't have to watch the parade of Malibu Barbies anymore.

Unfortunately, our culture teaches young girls from early childhood what they think is "beautiful" ie, barbies etc. I personally don't like my looks, but I try to be as natural as possible. I Think it all stems from having such self esteem. I once asked my mom why everyone wanted hair and eyes and skin like mine, when I would give anything for dark hair, warm brown eyes and a tan to kill for. She just said "blonde hair, blue eyed girls is the portrait of the all American girl next door that men want." not sure if that's true, and I guess Ive rambled long enough lol

why do so many black girls want fake hair? and why do the ones with lighter skinned think there better then darker skinned blacks, anyway, thats just a fad because of celebrities, its not that big of a deal, i will never go tanning again though, i don't want wrinkles! those girls are dumb! as for dying hair, everybody dyes there hair, japan is full of red/orange haired people if you haven't noticed

i have under no circumstances considered this in the previous. you're portray with an particularly large brush. women folk international huge substitute their appearances for diverse causes. i could merely as well ask why black women folk get blond and red highlights, extensions and performance their hair carried out in overly not undemanding sorts. See how small-minded it style of feels? there is not any such ingredient as race. there is not any huge difference between the DNA of blacks, whites, hispanics, etc., merely distinct epidermis pigmentations.
