Absolutely brilliant in north-east England. Had a look at it through binoculars 30 minutes ago and the man-in-the-moon gave me a wave!

At 7.15 p.m. it rose, all red and bloated. Then it disappeared for a while. Now it is back, radiant in silver and riding across typhoon cleansed skies. Very fat and brighter than a spotlight ... keeping me awake and making my kittens do crazy things such as literally climbing the outside wall (helped by the climbing campsis growing there). Got to go; one is screaming its head off now .. probably stuck!
