if no-one spent their time asking the questions in the first place, no-one would get any fun out of looking for interesting questions to answer, or out of having a good nosey at what other people's answers are.
Some of the questions are just for entertainment value but others are really quite serious. Some questions voice major concerns and it is good way of getting impartial answers to problems that people find are worrying them.

Yes there are plenty more important things to do however Im at work with nothing more important to me right now than to answer as many questions that i can to help save the internet world. May God bless me

I would say we come here to ask questions about the things that are important to us. Then we go do them. Sometimes we are just looking for a little reassurance.

I ask questions as I want to expand my knowledge,I ask questions because I want to hear other peoples points of view,I ask because I'm unsure of the answer.I could be doing the ironing but I doubt that would make me happy whereas being able to find solutions to my problems certainly helps to cheer me up.

yes, good question. i ask myself and others this exact question on a daily basis-why do we do the things we do? is life a meaningless pool of sex, lies and immorality or are we in this battle called life to maintain homeostasis with the outer universe? what is our daily purpose and will we live up to our true potential that waits for all of us at the end of the road.... death. that is the answer.
