what kind of horse is it. An Arab would have a different sort of name than a Quarterhorse - I love indian sounding names

I have a little paint mare named Cheyenne
If you know the parents horses are often named after the sire and dam. Ihave a filly born this year - Her dad's name is SharpesSuperStar and her mom is Rounds Easter Girl. We are calling the baby Sharpes Easter Candy.
My other filly from last year Dad's name is Valor, her mom was Bema Primrose so we named the baby Rose of Valor.
I have an old gray Arab that is almost completely white now. I call him Mystic because he looks mystical coming through the fog. Like a magic horse.
You could also name them after their characteristics. I have a mare named Babe, but I call her Haggatha.

I have 2 horses i have a dark bay filly named cynder and a yearling gelding named mighty max Cynder was named for her color and max because he was afraid of everyone and everything as a baby so we named him "mighty" because he needed a little encouragement. Watch your horse for a couple of days, usually something about them will stick out and you should name them something that reminds you of that. There is no bad name. so have fun. naming animals is something i love to do!!!

If your buying a horse thats not a colt you cant name it because its already registered with a name and knows to respond to the other name it was given.
