Computer data IS NOT energy. The computer merely uses the electrical energy to manipulate matter (in hard disks or floppy and zip disks, it is converted to magnetic energy and used to manipulate bits of magnetic metals or in the case of CD/DVD, the energy is converted to light (laser) to burn some parts off the disc) thereby storing the information.

This therefore means that the energy is converted to another form and used to manipulate matter and the storage of the data then occurs in the form of matter not energy.

Energy can't be destroyed (or created, for that matter) but it can be transformed from one type of energy to another. If computer data were stored as energy, that energy could conceivably be turned into heat energy, and you'd lose the data.

Energy can't be destroyed, but it can change form. Computer data can be transformed into fire or heat energy, and then you've lost the data.

For one thing, data on your computer is NOT energy. It is magnetic.

Secondly, energy can not be destroyed, but it CAN be transformed. It could become kinetic energy, potential energy, heat, etc.

Well, if your statement WAS true, and it's not, then the computer data can't be destroyed.

Then logically, computer data cannot be destroyed!

THE ENERGY IS STORED INSIDE THE COMPUTER HARD DRIVE, THAT CAN BE DESTROYED BUT NT ENERGY.

It is not energy, or even if it is, it can be damaged in such a way that the computer can no longer read it.
