Hi, so I had my period last week and it was really really hot. As i slept I noticed that my maxi pad was rubbing against my vagina and it hurt a little. Anyways, my period ended monday and now where i had this pain there are a few bumps, something that feels like a scarpe and sometimes it can get itchy. Yes, it's painful. It;s also on the lower end of my vagina towards my opening.

I am freaking out, my gyno is closed today but i am freaking out. Any suggestions on what this could be??

I work out and sweat through my undies, do you think that may have something to do with it?

Don't hit the panic button QUITE yet..
I've been having the same problem lately, and I think it's actually like a diaper rash. I've been putting an ointment on it called Aquaphor. It's a medicated petroleum jelly, and I have used it on my son's diaper rash since he was born. Try that, and if it still doesn't clear up call your dr, as it may also be an external yeast infection. I've had that too and it isn't pretty. (So has my son, incidentally, along the creases of his legs under the elastic leg openings of his diapers.) S/he will probably suggest an over the counter cream for it. No biggie...

I'm a health educator and I would say you MUST be seen by a doctor and soon. If you are too embarrassed you can always go to a planned parenthood or other low cost facility. This sounds like it could be anything from an intense bacterial infection to genital herpes. If it is herpes realize there is no cure but the symptoms can be treated and you life will go on. One in five adults over the age of 12 have genital herpes it is a disease that is not protected against by consistent condom use. It along with genital warts can be spread by skin to skin contact. Know your partners!

It could be warts and not look like what you find on the net. Are they tiny flesh colored bumps? They could be natural clogged pores or it could be a sign of HPV which can produce warts. You need to get into a gyno asap

It's probably just irritation and some clogged pores or hair follicles down there. It can also be caused from a buildup of bacteria because of the heat, sweat, period combo. Just schedule an appointment and keep everything real clean. Anti-itch creme can help too.

you could have a yeast infection and you have been scratching and irratated the skin. it has happened to me before and i know, it sucks. i recommend some vagisil and a nice warm bath. avoid shaving "down there" until it clears up. if you do shave, then use a cream to help soothe it and keep the blade moving smoothly. replace the razor head/razor as soon as it doesnt start to glide smoothy/and or you receive razor bumps.

It sounds most likely to be sweat rash, go to the doc if it continues and try not to worry!
