I did a lot of programming and fooling around with the Commodore 64.
These days you can download an emulator for it called WinVICE.

Believe it or not, I still have my Commodore 64 and the 1541 disk drive hidden away in a box someplace, and for all I know they still work. I have no idea if I still have any software with it though. I had a Chuck Yeager flight simulator, and some interesting games like Bard's Tale and Legacy Of The Ancients. They were AGONIZINGLY slow to load and change screens, but heck, we didn't care back then.

I also had a book that was full of game programs written in BASIC language that you could type in and run... and of course somewhere in the 1000 lines of code you would always screw it up somewhere so you had to go back and run each line to debug the program....ah, good times. My girlfriend back then was even more hooked than me...she had a Commodore 128.

You know there are $10 pocket calculators that have more memory than that now.

I had a Commodore Amiga. I let my dad give it away and I totally regret it. The start up disk alone is now worth like 20 bucks.
