Bounce dryer sheets. Smell drives rodents away. Works as well as mothballs, just without that mothball smell.

Several nylon stockings full of moth balls will do the trick Now if you can stand the smell keep dog food away from the car too! Tie the little bags you make to the corners where you see there little left overs.

cats are the best and easiest solution. Have to have an outside cat though. I also would recommend a king snake, but they leave after the food is gone.

put steel wool in the holes and in the insulation

keep mouse traps in your car.... or the glue traps... they might still get in, but at least they won't be there for long
