Old movie about a deaf/mute lawyer who is also dressmaker who falls for detective who is trying to find a killer who uses scissors to kill people. Dont know any cast names or the year of film.

Could be Rick ticky tarvi. I can see the actors faces but cannot put names to them, though I have a feeling that one of them was James Mason. Black and white and very atmospheric. Not a happy ending. Thats all I can remember apart from the fact that it was a 'B' movie

this was the closest thing to a "deaf/mute lawyer " i could find a film called "SUSPECT " althougth the man is a vagrant + the man accused falls in love for detective is it film.
