I am "AS LIBERAL AS ALL HELL" but I gotta say, STOP!
Big MISTAKE. Not because "she's you're step-niece," but because you're a tool. And I mean this in the BEST of ways.
ALL SHE HAS TO DO IS GET P1SSED OFF ONE (1) TIME AND SAY "UNCLE STEVE" DOESN'T THINK I'M IMMATURE OR HE WOULDN'T HAVE HAD SEX WITH ME!
Then the WHOLE family (ON TWO SIDE'S) will be gunning for you and "missy" will have what she "WANTED" in the first place. A scapegoat, YOU. Instead of b*tching at her, they'll concentrate on you and she'll get away with murder, since she's the "young victim."

The big concern is the age difference, especially due to the "niece" "uncle" relationship. She needs to be mature enough to understand what is going on. I know saying that about an 18 year old sounds funny, but it's still true. Also, if you are truly interested, you should pursue a real relationship instead of a fling. Otherwise, though it sounds weird, I don't suppose there is anything truly wrong with such a relationship. I know a family in which the step brother married the step sister, no blood relationship. They said the dating was weird, but otherwise everything was ok.

Absolutely nothing. You are in a position of trust and authority, to do anything about that would be a gross misconduct. It doesn't matter if you are related by blood, think about how her parents would view the match. If you think they'd have an aversion to the two of you being togther, then chances are you should back off.

Well thats your decision... I say anything that is family blood or not is incest... I wouldn't mess with any type of family member... There are many many many other women out there... Don't let your little head take over and do something like that

Don't do anything. It doesn't matter if you're not related "by blood", she is still considered family. It doesn't matter if she's 18 or not, it's still wrong. And, if you do try hitting on her, she might say something to another family member about it, and you would look like a pervert.
Both of you need to find someone to date OUTSIDE of your family.

Just by you asking this question and the way you frased it looks to me like ...ypu dont want to step over that line. This is family. Dont blur the lines. Its just not right. she is your niece. Look elsewhere, anywhere but from within your own family, Blood or not YOU called her your niece. nuff said.

Well think about it this way. If you do hook up and it doesn't work out, how will you feel seeing her at every family reunion or across the dinner table.
And what if she gets pregnant? Don't you think that would be a little difficult to explain?
