services like Yahoo! are they intended for international users or only local (in the states) ?
I was just in a question asked in a "hobbies and crafts" section, about where to find a shop in some middle-eastern country. One replied with "ask this in the international section .. we're in America here" hmm Just wondering if we should start assuming there are other people with internet in other places than the states.

The internet is WORLDWIDE!!! People all over the world have the internet and alot of the site you look at can be hosted from other countries. They said to ask in the international section because Yahoo! Answers tries to manage this site based on locations/ languages.

Yahoo is totally international. I don't know about you, but when I am looking for a question to answer, at the bottom left of the screen, there's a spot that asks if I want to see questions from the USA, or any and all English questions,.. which means there's obviously questions coming in from non-American countries.

Yes indeed, that is whi it is called the informatiuon super highway, and the world wide web (www). You can literally communicate with people on the other side of the world and receive replies from them in seconds to minutes, depending on the distance between the two of you, and whether there are glitches in the network.

yes, internet is international. For example, websites that have .pl is Poland, .uk is England, etc.
Therefore, yahoo.com is USA. yahoo.pl.com is Poland, etc. That's probably where the "go to the international section" came from.
