I have a pre-paid cingular and I love it. Most of my family has cingular too so it is free mobile to mobile minutes. My friend in Louisiana also has cingular so it costs me nothing to call her. It is 10 cents per minute and 5 cents per text message, and also 10 cents per minute to go online.

Whatever you do, do not use Sprint. They drop calls like crazy. When my contract is up I will go to verizon. According to the people that have Verizon, they like the service and coverage.

It really depends on how many lines you want to have and how many minutes you will be using a month, all family share plans have unlimited nights, weekends and mobile to mobile.. 700 shared min 59.99, 1000 shared min 69.99, 2000 shared min 99.99, 3000 min for 129.99.....we also have unllimited family messaging...
This would be T-Mobile family plans...

T-Mobile has a Personal Coverage Check on their website, where you can enter addresses and it will show you how good your coverage is in that location. Check home, work, etc. You definitely need to make sure you have coverage

Check coverages first, won't do you much good if you can't use them everywhere you go. In my area (Santa Cruz, CA) the best coverage is Verizon
