Are they taking lots of prescription meds? specifically narcotics such as Lorcet, Lortab, Percocet, etc.? The reason is because they could have exceeded the maximum amount of acetaminophen that is allowed in one day, and its very damaging to the liver. The maximum daily amount is 4 grams which is 4,000 mg. Thats the eqivalent of 8 maximum strength tylenol. That could be the reason. The liver is working overtime and it shows in labwork. My suggestion would be for your friend to lay off the meds that cause strain on the liver if indeed she is taking them. If not, Im stumped. Good luck either way, and I hope that helped a small bit.

Let me know if you get any good responses on this. I am in the same boat. Liver enzymes are WAY high. Also have high cholesterol and WAY high triglycerides. Won't test for diabetes because of the liver enzymes and won't give meds for the cholesterol because of the liver enzymes.
Am taking 5 different meds a day for other health issues, but there are many symptoms I am currently dealing with. My doc has a "wait and see" type of attitude. Email me with good responses. Thanks, and i hope your friend is well. Hugs to you!

depends on what exactly. Anything from alcohol to tylenol, most meds act in the liver and can do damage over time.
