I unfortunately was in the wrong place at the wrong time behind a sealcoat truck and got some overspray of sealcoat on my hood and bumper, any ideas on how to remove it?

Sealcoat is a petroleum based product. A variety of thinners are available at the autoparts store. Gasoline will also work. Use a small amount on a rag and work only the spots. As the rag gets covered, move to clean spots on the rag so you dont spread the thinned sealcoat around. Use several rags, if necessary.

Even with the mild cleaners, be careful to clean up quickly with soap and water and re-protect your paint with a good waxing.

try starting fluid as it should desolve the sealcoat, it also works for grease stains your mechanic may leave behind, ive been there, done that and have the shirt

WD40 won't hurt your paint (like starter fluid) and it will take the tar off.
