I went to take him something to eat yesterday and he said he just ate. I said "ate what" and he said pizza, that the guys next door bought it for him. Well, later after he got home from work he said the girl next door bought it for him while talking about something else and I said "excuse me" and he said he didn't tell me cause he knew I would get mad, he went on to say he did some "free" work on her car which is not him, he usually won't do nuthin' for free??????????? So, I am wondering why he lied? Do people not lie because they feel guilty and are doing something wrong?

HMMMMMM Let me put it this way for you- your boyfriend MAY be completely innocent and it could have happenned that way! BUT this GIRL definetely has her eye on your man! Theres no ifs ands or buts about it. When a girl likes a guy she goes straight for his tummy! Buys him food- makes food at home and brings him some- stuff like that! Id keep a damn close eye on this girl! Let him know NOT to accept it from her anymopre cuz this will just give her HOPE and lead her on!

Not always, I used to be married to a guy who would lie about the most stupid stuff, that the truth wouldnt have even been a big deal, he just lied to lie. I would catch him all the time just like that, he would be telling some other story and slip up and say something that two days ago told me something totally different...so a liar is a liar is a liar. If he cant be truthful about stupid little things? What big thing could he be lying about? Him being guilty about something is not really the point. Its that he is a liar. PERIOD!

People only lie when they trying to hide something. That is the only reason, think about the last time you lied. It wasn't for fun. He would only think that you would get mad about it because you would if you knew what was really going on. Leave him now before he leaves you for someone else like the girl at work.

It is odd that he would lie about something so petty. Maybe you should look for a pattern. I dated a guy who lied about stupid stuff all the time and then I ran into his "fiance" and baby at the mall after we had been dating for a year and a half. Not all guys are so shady, but if you feel like he consistently lies about little things, it may lead to something bigger.

A lie is a lie, and is not acceptable behaviour in a committed relationship. You should make that clear - because liars are often trying to cover up someother bad behavior.
If he lies again - you need to move on. It won't get better, and the lies and other behavior will only get worse.

There is nothing wrong with lunching with a co-worker, as long as the sig. other knows. That info should be disclosed asap, to avoid misunderstandings. That he worked on her car and didn't tell you is also another warning sign. You may benefit from letting him know it doesn't bother you, but you feel like it is wise to keep you informed himself, so it doesn't lead to such misunderstandings.

It just makes sense to be honest about stuff...little white lies often are what gets one into trouble.

That is untrustworthy behavior. People lie out of guilt and because they feel like they are doing something or did something wrong. You should further investigate and make sure this woman isn't trying to take what is yours. Don't except lies.

Sounds like betrayal to me. He wouldn't lie unless he felt the need to hide something
Are you normally a jealous girlfriend? If you are then there is a possibly he was just afraid you would flip out. If your not then he could definetley be messin' around

He lied because he didn't want you exploding at him at his job. What work did he do on her car??? Check her oil and tires, or replace the whole engine. Sounds like she was just "paying him back" for his time. Relax...he eventually came and told you in safe surroundings where you couldn't go off on him in front of people.

He lied because he was covering his a**. If he did something for her or with her that he wouldn't do in front of you, then he did something wrong and is probably at least having an emotional affair, if not a physical one.
