When I was in high school I had a bad case of acne and blackheads. I bought a travel size bottle of Ceprocol (mouthwash) and a bag of cotton balls. Start in the morning and just continue all day to clean your face with the mouthwash. It kills the bacteria causing the outbreaks and doesnt dry out your skin. By the next day your problem will be noticably gone. I continued to do it for a few days until it was cleared up and there are no side effects. Good luck!

my only suggestion is that if you are using antibacterial soap, DON'T!
many think this will help, some acutally cause their own break outs because the antibacterial soap also kills the good germs and bacteria normally found on all skin.
do not over scrub your face. if at all possible, sometimes just using the bubbles from your shampoo'd hair and rubbing your face with the hands can help.
use "witch hazel"...it is very mild and is much less costly than expensive facial wipes or cleansers.
do not put sunscreen or lotion on your face.
if you have oily skin, try a light salt scrub once a week using any NON antibacterial soap and a couple shakes of regular table salt...use warm water.
another issue is a yeast build up which happens when hormones kick in...if you suspect yeast, use COLD water to wash your face.
also, if you shave, try to use a razor without the medicated or hydrating strip on them.
the last method is purchasing dog soap...am i crazy? no. my sister-n-law discovered this on accident. I cant tell you the name of it, because it's been so long ago, but she used it mistaking it for regular soap. all it took was two normal washes and two days and her skin cleared up. after that she decided to use it twice a week and it worked! (i think it was hartz)

How close do you live to the Gulf of Mexico? My son went camping there for 4 days with his scout troop a couple of years ago, and actually came back CLEAR! and stayed clear nearly two weeks before the acne came back... Witch Hazel helps a bit, and cool showers after sweating... but nothing I've found or heard of, so far, has cleared it up compleatly.... Good luck.

Tea tree oil--you can find it in the vitamin section at wal-mart. Just dab a little on your problem areas (even if you aren't broken out) twice a day. You should notice a difference in the redness in a day or two, and the pimples themselves should be better in less than a week. I don't even wash my face with anything, just wet it with water and pat dry, then put on the tea tree oil. It has a bit of a smell, but it goes away after a few minutes.

Cameron Diaz washes her face with milk powder for it.
I strongly recommend tea tree oil. Burn it in your house and add a little to your (all natural) day cream. your facial products can better be too greasy then dry, if you apply oil on your skin your skin doesn't need to make so much. And admit, your face is shiny all the time isn't it? honestly, this works smells fresh and feels good. make sure the oil is real and not artificially made. The bottle must say if it is not naturally gained from the tree

I never use soap on my face. It dries it out. Use witch hazel for cleansing, toothpast on individual pimples. You can also make an oatmeal facial scrub, or an egg white face mask. If your skin is dry you need to find a good moisturizer and you will need to try different brands to find what works for you.

My friend's daughter went to a skin specialist for acne. He told her to stay away from dark soda pop, and to use white toothpaste on the break-outs.

witch hazel works great. another is putting lime in a glass with alittle bit of alcohol. BOth have worked with me but don't do both at the same time. Oh the lime unplugs the pores and the alcohol dries it out.
