I'm 26 years old and have 2 daughters. I've been taking birth control pills since I was 17, used the calender method up until I got pregnant with my first daughter and it worked, but after i gave birth my mentrual cycle went haywire and I started using BCP. FOr the past year I've noticed that my menstrual cycle has become more less heavy and less days to the point that I haven't had my period since April. Normal Period. I stopped taking the BCP back in May thinking if I stopped them then maybe I will get a normal period then I can get back to taking them again like I use to. But nothin has happened yet. I am not pregnant and friends have to told me not to worry that it will take a couple more months for my period to get to normal after so many years of being on BCP, but I' m still worried. what can I do? ( also my T3 hormone level was high, they said its because of the BCP but I still got worried)

the first thing to do his get a pregnancy test, after that - relax. For starters you body needs some adjusting off the BCP which could be causing it, the are quite a few short term causes like weight loss or gain, stress, or lack of protein - have you changed anything else in your life lately? There is also a lesser known fact that I found out from co-workers. As we get older our period actually changes - usually getting shorter and lighter. It doesn't mean you are an old lady (your the same age as me after all) but your body changes every 7 years, developing new allergies, changing your metabolism, and your cycles. I had the same problem as you last year - but I skipped 3 months in row. I went to the doc and was told that until it hits 6 months minimum (with no other symptoms) there is no reason to worry.

you should be fine just be cautious of having sex with out condoms or other type of BC. Most women takes a couple months for the body to get used to the normal levels of hormone production in the body. Any more doubts ask OB.

hmm, it could be a million things. If you're sure you're not pregnant, then it could be high stress, a poor diet, too much exercise. But to be sure, go with an ob/gyn
