give him options.. let him know that what he wants matters and offer him suggestions on how to make this work so that both dad and u will still see him, so he still has the best of both worlds..
maybe he can go w/dad on weekends or go w/dad in the summers, or go w/dad every other week if he lives close, or half the year he's w/u and he goes w/dad on weekends and half the yr he's w/dad and sees u on weekends..
make it work... u don't want ur son hating u because u won't be fair.. just continue to communicate w/the dad to make the transition easier...

let him, it's better to have a happy kid than a miserable child, and you will regret it for a long time, I have a brother and he wanted to live with his dad, and my mom wouldnt let him. Now he's closer to my dad more than ever and not so close to my mom because she took that right away from him. Boys want to be with their dad. If he is a good father than there is no harm. He's not leaving you for ever.

If his dad is a good person and wants him, let him go. A boy of his age needs his dad.

I had to let mine go and see for themselves what life with good old dad was like. They were calling me after about 6 weeks begging me to come "rescue" them, which I did and we have all been living happily ever after. :) Good luck!

So why should he not spend some time with his dad. Are you afraid he will find out the truth of some matters.

Been there, done that - chances are he'll come running home to you with his tail tucked between his legs...Let him go, he just thinks the grass is greener, he'll learn...

IT MIGHT JUST BE A THREAT. TELL HIM HE CAN GO BUT THAT YOU REALLY DON'T WANT HIM TO. MY SON STAYED WITH ME AND IS STILL HERE AT 19. GOOD LUCK!!
