I saw a documentary once that said the average size of an American woman is 14. But keep in mind that sizes have changed over the years ... and I don't mean the women. Manufacturers are now calling what used to be a 14, a 12. Just to give you a reference point, Marilyn Monroe was a size 14 in her day, but she would wear a size 12 today.

In established clothing, i'm a 2 petite - US sizes. the marriage clothing i've got tried on that have style-of fit are a length 4, inspite of the undeniable fact that one sheath costume that for the time of good shape properly substitute right into a 6, i think of. (the 4 substitute into tight interior the bum.) i think of that for the time of established clothing sizes 8, 10, 12 sell particularly rapidly. Excuse the rant, yet: Oh how I wish that wedding ceremony clothing have been offered in petite sizes - no longer something suits!! each and every thing is approximately 4-5 inches too long, and each and all of the straps and bodices are too long and characteristic the incorrect proportions. And something as properly a sheath or A-line looks like that is wearing me and makes me seem ridiculous. grrrrrr. ....ok, i'm achieved. :-)

I'm going with 12. I've heard that the average woman in the US is a size 14 but I'm going to go one smaller.

According to NBC, the average size is now 14. It seems to me that younger people are taller than they used to be. It stands to reason that improved nutrition has increased sizes in the United States.
