One grows up with the real mothers grandpapents after she is killed in the bombing. He by some fluke passes the 11+ and goes to the Disrali High school. At the age of 11 he first noticed Myrtle who showed him what the grownups do.
The other grew up in a wealthy household despite the face the brother of the lady posing as his mother found out about the scam.
