In my bible it says, "Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolators, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God's kingdom. 1 Corinthians 5:9&10. Please read the whole scripture before telling me that I am going to burn in hell for being a lesbian. Also read this one, Matthew 7:1-5. "Stop judging that you may not be judged; for with what judgment you are judging you will be judged; and with the measure that you are measuring out they will measure out to you. Why then, do you look at the straw in your brother's eye but do not consider the rafter in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, 'Allow me to extract the straw from your eye'; when look! a rafter is in your own eye?" Hypocrite! First extract the rafter from your own eye, and then you will see clearly how to extract the straw from your brother's eye." When you stop sinning...

PseudogodJ,
This is a QUESTION, not a place for you to try to convert me to Athieism. I believe in God. You can't change that. Please just answer the question.

My point, and I see that everyone who answered so far has missed it, is this; how can one skip over the parts meant for themselves and only throw at me what is meant for me. I wonder how many people that answered this question or others like it are unmarried in a relationship with the opposite sex actually having sex. If this is you then you are a fornicator. How many married men or women that have cheated on their spouse in the past or are presently cheating have run across this question and decided to throw their two cent in. These people are adulterers. I put in the other scripture in hopes of making people look at themselves before judging me or anyone else. I see it did not work. It is a sad day when we are so quick to judge someone else but have failed to look at our own faults. From the answers I have received, I absolutely refuse to choose a best answer so I will let you vote on it. Have a nice day and remember to clean your own house before trying to clean mine.

because quoting Bible verses out of context is what suits their intolerant, bigoted purpose. there are far more admonishments of heterosexuals in the Bible...they always seem to forget that!
this is a good piece I read over and over...

Dear Dr. Laura,

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's law. I have learned a great deal from you, and I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind him that Leviticus
18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate. I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the specific laws and how to best follow them.

When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev. 1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. How should I deal with this?

I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as it suggests in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev. 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

Lev. 25:44 states that I may buy slaves from the nations that are around us. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans but not Canadians. Can you clarify?

I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

Thank-you.

The bible has been corrupted by people with their own agendas and also the interpretations vary greatly because of the different translations. I think people should look into their hearts more than looking to words in a book. Also Homophobes and Fundamentalists are hateful and close minded to begin with so they'll twist around any words they find in the bible to suit their own angry beliefs.

How do you think the Bible was written to begin with? Portion of the history and folklore of only one particular area of world were collected, twisted, and manipulated for the self-serving purposes of those who wanted to gain power. Later, after the death of Queen Elizabeth 1, King James 1 had the Church write it all out. They called it, "the word of God", the Bible.

If a poster wants to make a point from the Bible, obviously he is going to post the Scriptures that support - or seem to support - that point of view. If he's trying to persuade someone about something, he won't usually quote verses that won't help to make his point (waste of time). And he certainly doesn't want to quote verses that contradict - or seem to contradict - the point he's making for his 'cause'.

The problem becomes a self righteous judgment and lack of reverence for the blood of Jesus. He died for everyone even the lesbians.

Well said, but lesbianism is still wrong because it does not lead to procreation, family life and species propagation which are wonderful gifts [from God].

I think it's better to think out your opinions by yourself without using anything like that first, and then only use stuff like that to make you understand that other people feel your opinion too.

Think for yourself, it's not that hard.
